This book always gives me the wibblys. But I can't stop re-reading it on a fairly regular basis :) Young teenage girls on the cusp of becoming women are disappearing and the new Crime Bureau, headed up by Dr Tony Hill, is using their case files to practise and hone their psychological profiling skills. The star of the class spots the link and against Tony's advice follows up the leads. Soon the whole fledgling team has a fresh body on their hands and are themselves under suspicion of murder. Isn't it lucky Tony knows a police officer who can help them out? A worthy successor to 'The Mermaids Singing'. And, by this time, Robson Green made a decent TV version of Tony.
