This extraordinary, magical novel is the story of Clare and Henry who have known each other since Clare was six and Henry was thirty-six, and were married when Clare was twenty-two and Henry thirty. Impossible but true, because Henry is one of the first people diagnosed with Chrono-Displacement Disorder: periodically his genetic clock resets and he finds himself pulled suddenly into his past or future. His disappearances are spontaneous and his experiences are alternately harrowing and amusing. The Time Traveler's Wife depicts the effects of time travel on Henry and Clare's passionate love for each other with grace and humour. Their struggle to lead normal lives in the face of a force they can neither prevent nor control is intensely moving and entirely unforgettable.

I really new and original concept. However, it was spoilt by unnecessary crudity and I was unable to finish the book. I haven't managed to see the film yet but I look forward to seeing how it finishes.

This was an amazing book and one I highly recommend if you are looking for something 'different'. It took me a while to get into the authors style of reading (maybe I've been reading too many young adult books) but once I did I was glad I didn't give...

I loved TTW, I saw the film a few days ago and I agree with the poster who said they would have liked it if they hadn't read the book. I spent most of the film waiting for stuff to happen, that just didn't...a lot was missed out. It's a lot softer than the book, all the gritty stuff is left out. It's not terrible, as a chick flick I suppose it's quite good. I wanted more from it though x

Anyway, I cry easily, I'm always moved by books. Probably the saddest recently though was The Love Of My Life by Louise Douglas. I've been reading a lot of good stuff about No 1 chesterfield square, so I'm off to look it up x

Hi, btw, I'm new to the site and just finding my feet.
