Legions of readers entranced by Twilight are hungry for more and they won't be disappointed. In New Moon, Stephenie Meyer delivers another irresistible combination of romance and suspense with a supernatural twist. The "star-crossed" lovers theme continues as Bella and Edward find themselves facing new obstacles, including a devastating separation, the mysterious appearance of dangerous wolves roaming the forest in Forks, a terrifying threat of revenge from a female vampire and a deliciously sinister encounter with Italy's reigning royal family of vampires, the Volturi. Passionate, riveting, and full of surprising twists and turns, this vampire love saga is well on its way to literary immortality.

This is the second book in Stephenie Meyer's bestselling Twilight series. The smash-hit film adaptation of Twilight, the first book, was released in 2008. It's a good follow up to Twilight, but not as good. I wasn't surprised by the revelation about Jacob like some of my friends.

I can't find anyone who isn't in love with Edward, but only in the book, not the film.

'Bella?' Edward's soft voice came from behind me. I turned to see him spring lightly up the porch steps, his hair windblown from running. He pulled me into his arms at once, and kissed me again. His kiss frightened me. There was too much tension, too strong an edge to the way his lips crushed mine - like he was...

I'm completely in with Kat here. New moon is SUPPOSED to be depressing. If it wasn't, Steph wouldn't have done her job properly.

Although New Moon is the most depressing out of the 4, I think it is vital to developing all 3 characters, despite the abscence of Edward. The importance of Jacob is truly established and as readers we experience the importance of Edward to Bella from his disappearence. Further on in the series Edward explained why he left and I beleive the reasoning is necessary to understanding Edwards perspective, as well as tightening the bonds between Bella and Edward.

I couldn't choose which book is my favourite as they are all interlinked to make an amazing story!!

My favourite is definitely 'Twilight'. New Moon bored me slightly because of the lack of Edward goodness, I liked 'Eclipse' too, but hated 'Breaking dawn'. I mean really, that last book is so bad it's not even funny.
