Dan Brown is the Michael Bay of literature; loud, formulaic, predictable and unable to craft stories of much substance. The pace was sluggish compared to his last efforts and his writing style seemed a bit random. At a couple of points I felt convinced...

The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown - Great mystery and ride, loved some of the interesting factual tidbits throughout the book, however the ending was a let down for me, I expected more. Will make a great movie though :)

I found this book easy to read but with the expense of a decent plot line. I didnt like the end and it felt like it had no resolution. I definitely wont read another Dan Brown Book.

I can't say that I loved THE DA VINCI CODE - I thought i zipped along nicely, but I just wasn't taken by Brown's writing style (and I know I'm in the minority here!).

BTW, if you liked THE DA VINCI CODE, you might want to have a look at Glenn Cooper's LIBRARY OF THE DEAD, which has some things in common with TDVC, but which is, I think, more tightly plotted and better written.
