'In a brief statement on Friday night, Minister for Magic Cornelius Fudge confirmed that He Who Must Not Be Named has returned to this country and is once more active. "It is with great regret that I must confirm that the wizard styling himself Lord - well, you know who I mean - is alive and among us again," said Fudge.' These dramatic words appeared in the final pages of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. In the midst of this battle of good and evil, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince takes up the story of Harry Potter's sixth year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, with Voldemort's power and followers increasing day by day

I'll have to read this book 'Twilight' to see what all the fuss is about it!! Is it a book for girls/ladies rather than lads? I have read some of the Harry Potter books, (and they are good!).

The reason they get compared is because they're the only two series that have ever sparked this kind of craze on such a massive scale. You're right, apsrt from that they have very little in common.

Twilight has not 'stolen Harry's magic'. I don't know why people always compare the books all the time- they seem completely different to me. Harry Potter is about as poor guy who gets told he's a wizard and is taken into a whole new world of magic whereas Twilight is just about a teenage girl who meets his guy who happens to be a vampire. Furthurmore, the Harry Potter books span over seven years whereas the Twilight ones only cover about two. Twilight has far less characters and isn't really anything to do with magic, it's just supernatural!
Anyway, I think that Harry Potter is still way ahead of Twilight and has a lot bigger -and more blanced- fanbase. Harry Potter appeals to everyone, children and adults, male and female alike. I think Twilight is good but it'll never compare with that.
