I've watched versions of this before. I am now reading it for the first time as an Ebook as I don't own a copy. I'm halfway through and its a good afternoon read, can't understand why I've not readit before.

I watch one of the old 50's versions of the movie each year. Puts me in the spirit. Some of you may be interested in my, A MAINE CHRISTMAS CAROL. It is a contemporary telling of the classic set in Maine. It deals with teen drug abuse, the war in Iraq, and the need for youth to take more responsibility for their actions. Great reviews. Available on Amazon. Great for families and youg adults.

We've recently cleared out our loft and one of the boxes contained some books that I had as a child. One of them is "Christmas Stories" by Charles Dickens and the first story is..."A Christmas Carol". I'd forgotten all about this book - opening it was like meeting a very old friend! Lovely! Looking forward to reading it again.

This is the perfect story for this time of year - start the countdown to Christmas day!! :). This story is included in the Dickens' Christmas Collection book that I have, along with: A Christmas Tree, The Cricket on the Hearth, and The Child's Story.

A seasonal read and well worth the trouble. My family's favourite with everyone taking a turn in reading. This takes place over mince pies and mulled wine and gets us into the Christmas spirit.
