Attached Book: Rachel's Food for Living by Rachel Allen

I love cookbooks - and am always looking for genuinely good cookbooks. Let's face it, recommendations are needed in this area to navigate the good from the bad and the awful.

I have this book and really enjoy it. There's some really usable recipes that are perfect for everyday cooking. Not obscure ingredients - really worth getting.

Has anybody got "Delia's Frugal Food". Have seen it advertised and wondered if it is worth getting. I do like Delia Smith's cookery books and can get on with her recipes .

Rachel Allen's new cookbook is nearly ready! It's out on the 1st October, but her tv series starts on UKTV on the 21st September. It's called Home Cooking.

The two authors are Patrik Jaros & Gunter Beer. I've put it in the recommendations at the bottom of this page for a quick link to it.

It's really simple - even using the last of a bottle of ketchup to make a new dressing in the bottle!

Hi everyone, just joined up.
I love a good cookbook and I love the sound of The Kitchen Revolution. Just what I need. I'm going on their website right now!

I'm recommending a similar book called Waste Not, Want Not which uses leftovers and makes some really interesting things with them.

I love The Kitchen Revolution. - check out their website, too, where you can get some recipes for free. I went shopping on Thursday (the shopping list is in the book) and have so far done the following from Week Three, February: Chicken casserolle with white wine, mushtrooms & mash, celeriac and muschroom bake and spinach & bacon pancakes.

The idea is you make one big meal, then you have all the ingredients to hand for making meals later in the week - and you get to use up all the leftovers in the proccess.

I love it!

Hi everyone I've recommended Jamie's Dinners and Nigella Express.
I find Jamie's Dinners really useful if you want to cook something ahead of time. His simple tomato sauce is great and he suggests loads of ways of using it in various recipes. His recipe for spinach and ricotta cannelloni is tasty and if freezes well.
Nigella's book is great for making meals quickly. As I'm not a breakfast person I really like her smoothie recipe, which tastes great.

Tired of deciding what to cook? Want to maximise your meals, with minimum time in the kitchen? Recent surveys have shown that around a third of the food produced in the UK for human consumption ends up in the bin. This means that every adult is wasting hundreds of pounds-worth of food a year!
