This is one of the best vampire that if vampires were real could happen, with a slow begining it takes a while to get but once you do wont wont be able to stop reading to seeing how this ends.

Excellent read. Looking forward to the next book in the series. The best vampire story that I have read in a long time.

It was a nice read but not great. The story got of with a great start, but along the way the authors got lost in a series of redundant examples of vampire attacks without helping the story along. The first few where bone chilling, but it became old really fast.
But when they did come back to the story it was a good read. I will pick up part 2 and 3 for sure.

Great fun exciting book, read like a movie, comic relief of exterminator was fantastic.

Finally a new decent vampire book! Dont get me wrong, I'm a huge fan of Twilight but not the other "paranormal romances" that have swept the genre.
This book had all the typical vampire stuff, coffins/ master vampires/ problems with sunlight/ etc but still it worked and I really got sucked into the story. (ha ha see what i did there...) I'd totally recommend this for a no brainer scary story and i cant wait for the next one.

Amazing, I loved it. Plays out like the best kind of hollywood movies. Had me hooked from beginning to end. Engaging plot and well thought out characters. I can't wait for the next installment!

I was expecting very good things from this book, and whilst it was an interesting, and relatively original story, I did not feel that it deserved all the hype it recieved, similarly with Del Toro's Pans Labryinth.

I found the little back storys / historys to be the most enjoyable and moving.

A good take on the Vampire Myth. Some excellent description scenes. Looking forward to the 2nd in the trilogy.

Just finished. I really enjoyed this book, though the authors tend towards shock for shock sake with their scenes with kids. Left with a cliff hanger, which always drives me nuts since I now have to wait a year for the next one. Overall a great read combining medical thriller with vampire genre. There is nothing romantic about their vampires either. I am about to start "I Am Legend" next.
